Mesotherapy
What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is an advanced treatment for rejuvenating dull, old and tired looking skin. It is a non-surgical treatment in which multiple microscopic injections of vitamins, minerals, pharmaceuticals and amino acids are administered directly into the skin.
It provides a cosmetic solution aimed at eliminating problem areas in the skin such as anti ageing, cellulite, pigmentation, fat reduction and many more.
How does Mesotherapy work?
Mesotherapy is a comfortable treatment which involves a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, pharmaceuticals and amino acids being injected into the mesoderm, (the second layer of the skin) using a small fine needle or combining it with Dermaroller or Dermapen treatments.
All mixtures are selected precisely by your practitioner depending on the desired use and targeted specifically on the chosen area.
What is the treatment used for?
Mesotherapy is a non surgical cosmetic breakthrough, which can rejuvenate contour and sculpt your skin. It is an easy and effective procedure to erase fine lines and pigmentation and can help get rid of cellulite and unwanted localised areas of fat.
It is mainly used for:
- Anti ageing: Anti-ageing materials are effectively infused into the mesoderm using this treatment, thus rejuvenating the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Pigmentation: The appearance of increased pigmentation such as freckles, melasma and blemishes can be dramatically improved by delivering lightening agents into the skin.
- Reduce fat / weight loss: It is the latest technique used to fight stubborn fat and cellulite by dissolving the fat and breaking down the receptors responsible for fat storage.
- Reduce Cellulite: Cellulite usually leaves a rippled or dimpled appearance on the skin that is very difficult to eliminate. Mesotherapy is exceptionally good for improving the appearance of cellulite as it shrinks fat cells and improves lymphatic drainage.
Who can have Mesotherapy?
Its minimal side effects make it suitable for everyone. It is very popular with younger clients who are conscious of cellulite and older ones who suffer from fine lines and wrinkles and are in need of rejuvenation.
Prior to proceeding with any treatment, your practitioner will assess and advise on your suitability, discuss the appropriate treatment and realistic results.
Is Mesotherapy safe?
Mesotherapy is very safe and can be used in many areas including the face, neck, abdomen, legs, arms and thighs, just to name a few. All products used during the procedure are FDA approved and promote great results. There is minimal down time and no known long term side effects.
How many treatments should I have?
The number of treatments required to achieve optimal results varies from patient to patient. It also depends on which area is being treated and of course the patient’s expectations and satisfaction. A minimum of 6 - 8 treatments is required for anti ageing facial treatments and a minimum of 10 treatments is needed to conquer stubborn fat and cellulite. Courses of treatments are available and mean you can make great savings too.
Does it hurt?
It is a comfortable procedure and the pain is nothing more than a prick. However, topical anaesthetic can be applied to the area prior to treatment to reduce any pain or discomfort.
Will I need any aftercare?
After the treatment you can expect to see some redness and swelling, which disappear within the initial 24-48 hours. Good aftercare will increase your chances of seeing great results and your practitioner will advise you on what you must do. Generally, you must avoid sauna, steam rooms and swimming for 48 hours and must use sunscreen that has a minimum SPF 30.
