Sun Care advice from nurse Marie Narsoomamode RGN

I always recommend Heliocare Sunscreens in my Clinics at Miravue Skin Clinic as they offer effective protection from Sun Damage.?Heliocare Gel works extremely well on Acne Prone Skin and Oily Skin types, the formula does not create a thick paste over the skin and clog the pores.
Heliocare’s products are well suited for people with darker skin tone. The sunscreen doesn?t discolour the skin, leaving a thick opaque layer like other sun creams and gels can.
“It’s important to apply Sunscreen correctly, lots of people just rub it in to their skin which isn’t correct”
Put a pea sized amount on your finger tip then dab it over your face. Make sure to cover the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks. Then gently blend it into your skin creating a thin protective layer. Try not to rub the sun cream all the way into your skin. The Sun cream or gel should sit on top of your skin forming a thin protective layer.
You should apply Heliocare after moisturising and re-apply every 2-3 hours to stay protected.
Remember to wear sunscreen daily, even if it’s not sunny. Some very harmful types of UV get through cloud causing premature ageing. If you want know more about why you should wear sunscreen on a daily basis read this article.? Read this article in the Guardian clearly showing the ageing effects of Sun damage.
