What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a light, cosmetic exfoliation treatment which gently removes the outer layer of dead skin cells. These dead skin cells are responsible for common skin complaints such as dull complexion, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone.
Despite the name ‘medical microdermabrasion’, the procedure is in fact non surgical; there is no need for injections, cutting of the skin, chemicals or a laser. Medical grade crystals are passed over the area being treated by the use of a hand held device, this creates a vacuum against the skin and painlessly removes the build up of dead skin cells. The procedure is typically painless with only a slight discomfort being reported in some patients, however the intensity of the treatment can be reduced at any time as the control settings on the equipment used are flexible.
Improve looks quickly
Microdermabrasion offers a whole host of positive effects on the skin, including improving the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, reduction in acne breakouts and scarring and the reduction of black heads and oiliness. Because the treatment is non-invasive, recovery time is extremely minimal. The only precaution that should be taken is to avoid hot baths, saunas or excessive heat for twenty four hours.
