Skin cracking, crusting, itching and flaking – all of these are just a few of the many uncomfortable symptoms of Eczema, a chronic skin condition that affects 1 in 9 people in the UK and of which there are numerous forms. The most common form of the condition is Atopic Eczema, which can be effectively controlled with topical or systemic medication.
A number of environmental and allergic triggers can cause an outbreak of Eczema, although the underlying cause is as yet unknown. It is currently speculated that a combination of environmental and genetic factors are the root causes of Eczema.
Red Itchy Skin
Eczema is a red, itchy and highly irritable rash-like condition. Outbreaks are most prevalent on the neck, head and scalp, inside of elbows and on the buttocks. Many of the symptoms of Eczema exhibit the same symptoms of Contact Dermatitis, which is caused by contact with irritant materials or allergens and is often mistaken for Eczema.
Unfortunately there is no cure for Eczema. However, we stock a number of medications that are proven to reduce the likelihood of outbreaks from spreading further throughout the body whilst making it far more bearable to live with. Our systemic and topical treatments are effective at easing the uncomfortable itchiness of Eczema and reduce the likelihood of the sufferer causing damage to affected areas.
