Dermaroller is an increasingly popular skin-care treatment helping to reduce wrinkles, lines and acne scarring, now being offered in Harrow.
What is Dermaroller?
Dermaroller is a simple procedure developed by medical dermatologists with the aim of making your skin more beautiful.
The Dermaroller is a roller consisting of sterile micro-needles that make tiny punctures in the deep layers of the skin, stimulating the body's own natural healing properties. Don't worry about it hurting – our medical professionals apply a topical anaesthetic to the area, and can use a local anaesthetic if requested.
The procedure takes only ten minutes or so, and should be repeated every 8-12 weeks. The best results can be seen after 4-6 repetitions, and experience shows they can last a lifetime.
How does Dermaroller actually work? The micro-needling of the deep layers of skin stimulates the production of collagen, an important constituent of healthy skin. Clinical evidence shows up to 400% increase in collagen after the procedure, resulting in improved skin elasticity, tensile strength and overall health.
Wrinkles are due to the skin losing it's tensile strength, and appearing less tight and firm. That means that a course of Dermaroller can show a very noticeable decrease in wrinkles and lines, and healthier, younger-looking skin.
